Ladyjacks Move up to Seventh on Day Two of Little Rock Women’s Golf Classic

SFA shoots a 19-over 307 Monday in the second round of Little Rock’s Women’s Golf Classic, Ladyjacks sit in seventh place with a total score of 36-over 612
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Climbing two spots on the leaderboard Monday at the Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the Stephen F. Austin women's golf team shot a 19-over 307 in the second round of the Little Rock Women's Golf Classic to grab ahold of seventh place. The Ladyjacks sit near the middle of the pack in the 15-team tournament with a two-day total of 36-over 612 heading into the final day of play Tuesday.
Fellow Southland Conference member Central Arkansas leads the tournament after posting a 11-over 299 Monday and holding a cumulative mark of 25-over 601. Jacksonville State is second with a 26-over 602, registering identical scores of 301 on the first two days of play. UTEP sits in third place with a two-round total of 29-over 605.
Redshirt junior Erica Lautensack (Arlington, Texas) leads SFA and is tied for 12th on the leaderboard after rising 17 spots between the first and second rounds. She shot a 1-over 73 in round two after recording a 5-over 77 Sunday in the opening round, owning a two-day score of 6-over 150. Sophomore Alexandra Batista (Trophy Club, Texas) tallied an 8-over 80 in round two of play to stand tied for 24th with a two-round total of 9-over 153.
True freshman Alexis Szewczyk (McKinney, Texas) recorded a 4-over 76 Monday on the par-72, 6,076-yard course to jump 11 spots on the leaderboard and move into a tie for 31st. She has a two-day total of 10-over 154, while sophomore Paola Cortes (Allen, Texas) collected a 6-over 78 in the second round to tie for 47th with a cumulative score of 13-over 157. Redshirt junior Jamee Jorgensen (Boerne, Texas) rounds out the Ladyjacks as she is tied for 71st with a two-round score of 21-over 165.
Central Arkansas' Emma Svensson and Louisiana-Monroe's Shani White lead Little Rock's Women's Golf Classic with two-day scores of 2-over 146, while Missouri State's Stine Pettersen is in third place with a tally of 3-over 147.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament will conclude tomorrow with the third and final round. Play will get underway at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The Ladyjacks are paired with Oral Roberts and host Little Rock and will tee off from holes 8-10.
